I began memorizing the Qur’an since i was young and completed memorization at the age of 15. I am currently studying towards obtaining an Ijaazah in recitation of the Qur’an InShaaAllah. My parents are my inspiration and motivation when it comes to the Qur’an. I made the decision to study the Qur’an so that I could implement its teachings and be of those that lead the prayer and earn greater rewards from Allah. A good teacher is one that acts upon the teachings of the Qur’an and allows this to be manifest in their students.
I feel a sense of awe when I recite the Qur’an, and as if Allah Almighty is addressing me directly . Surah al-ikhlaas is from amongst my favourite Surahs. I love this surah as the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alahi wa sallam) said that Allah loves those who love this surah.
My goal is to spread the Qur’an to every corner of the world and to all Muslims that have difficulty in learning it through al Quran faculty . As we accomplish this dream, I feel that the world will become a better place InShaaAllah.

I began to memorize the Quran at the age of five and completed it at the age of the fourteen. My teachers include Sheikh Hamid Sweilem when I was younger and then Sheikh Mohammed Shawki in Denshawai and then Sheikh Mustafa al-Banna in Shobrabas.
I have obtained an Ijaazaah (degree) in reciting Quran from Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, from Sheikh Mohammed Shawky. I have also worked as a Quran teacher at Al-Azhar. And now I’m currently the imam and preacher at my local Mosque. My parents are my inspiration and motivation, and I love to listen and imitate the recitation of Sheikh Mahmoud Ali al-Banna.
I decided to become a teacher of the Quran due to the prophetic statement that the best amongst you are those that learn the Quran and teach it to others. Surah Al-A’raaf is from amongst my favourite surahs, Allah speaks of the People of Paradise and the people of the Hell Fire and this eloquence of the Quran makes me feel tranquil and calm and beautiful.

I began reciting the Quran at the age of 6 and started memorizing quran when I was at the age of 20 under Sheikh Mustafa as-Saghir. I did face many obstacles and difficulties in my journey with the Quran but by the Bounty and Blessing of Allah Almighty, Allah allowed me to complete my memorization.
My father has always encouraged me to recite and memorize Quran. I believe that it is a duty upon each one of us to learn the Quran, because it is the Word of Allah and will InSha Allah be an intercessor for us on the Day of Judgement. I try to recite Quran and make the Quran alive and present in all that I do, and recitation of Quran grants me a sense of peace and contentment.
My favourite Surah is Al-Ikhlaas, as it deals with Tawheed and equates to a third of the Quran. I became a teacher of the Quran as I feel an obligation to teach this book especially to the non Arabic speaking audience. An important characteristic of a teacher is that we should instill the love of the Quran into the hearts and lives of the students, and inSha Allah I pray that this is a sadaqah jaariyah for me. Alquran faculty has afforded me the oppurtunity of gaining more experience In teaching the Book of Allah especially to non-Arabic speaking students. My goal is to assist as many Muslims in reciting the Quran in the proper and correct way as it was revealed to our Messenger (saw), my goal is also to assist the student in developing a closer relationship and love for the Quran, and be a means of motivation to establish a stronger relationship with Allah Almighty.

Icompleted my memorization of the Qur’an at the age of 24, graduating with an Ijazah from Hafs ‘an Aasim from the way of Tayyibah, Alhamdulilah. Ilearned that the Qur’an is an illumination for hearts. I truly feel that my heart ispeaceful when I read the Qur’an especiallyby verse 52 from Surah ash-Shurah. Also, the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alahi wa sallam) said, whoever wants to speak to Allah, let him read the Qur’an.
Inspiration: When I recite the Qur’an, I feel a connection with Allah and know with certainty it is from a divine source and from no one other than Allah.
My favourite Surah is Surah Hud where Allah tells us about the conditions of the nations that belied the Messengers and their fate .I became a Qur’an teacher because of the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alahi wa sallam):“The best among you are those that learn the Qur’an and teach it.” [Bukhari]
And I intend to live by this prophetic narration.

II was blessed to have many wonderful teachers in my years of completing the memorization of 18 ajzaa’ under his tutelage, the Sheikh passed away (rahimahullah) and I then went on to complete the rest of my memorization at Daar Al-Ghaffar.
My parents are my role models and insisted that I learn the Qur’an as it is the Book of Allah, and prevents us from engaging in evil activities and encourages towards doing good actions. I pray that Allah strengthens my relationship and bond with His Book until death. Throughout my years of study at Al-Azhar University, I would constantly revise the Book of Allah and I often studied and recited with a Sheikh to review my memorization and recitation. Alhamdulillah I have Ijaazah in memorization of the Qur’an from Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim, from the way of Shatebeya and At-Tayyibah.
Working with alquran faculty has changed my life Alhamdulillah. It has afforded me the opportunity of meeting different people from different countries and through this, I feel connected with the broader Muslim Ummah. This increases in me the love and bond of sisterhood, Alhamdulillah. By teaching people to read Qur’an, I ask Allah to make me from the people of the highest Jannah.
My goal and vision is to impart my knowledge of Qur’an to my students such that they are able to recite with correct and proper Tajweed and can complete the memorization of the Qur’an, and InShaaAllah reach great heights in their study of the Qur’an. I pray that they are able to reach and attain the level of Ijaazah in all Qira’aat.

I began memorizing the Qur’an when I was four years old and completed memorization at the age of 16 under the guidance of my teacher Sheikh Abur-Raheem Al Bayoumy rahimahullah.
I obtained a certificate on completion of the Qur’an in the dialect of Hafs ‘An ‘Aasim and am currently studying toward my Ijaaza in this Bi’idhnillah. I have been blessed with a wonderful teacher Alhamdulillah who constantly inspires and motivates me to do better and to study the Qur’an in order to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alahi wa sallam).
became a teacher because I yearn to follow the prophetic narration:(خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه)
“I Pray that Allah allows me to see this on my scale of good deeds on the day of Judgment and makes this a sadaah jaariyah for me. The Quran has always been a source of comfort and tranquility for me as Allah says in His Book, that it is only with the remembrance of Allah that hearts find ease and contentment .

This journey with the Qur’an began through my parents, who would often inform me of the prophetic narration:
(خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه)
“The best among you are those that learn the Qur’an and teach it.” [Bukhari]And subsequently would send me to the Masjid to learn Qur’an from the Sheikh. Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed me to complete the memorization of the Qur’an when I was 12 years old.
My relationship with the Qur’an is such that I ask Allah to grant me death whilst I recite His Book.
I teach Qur’an with the intention of helping others recite the Qur’an with proper Tajweed, especially those who cannot speak or are not fluent in the Arabic language. I pray Allah makes this a Sadaqah Jaariyah for me.
I believe that we, as teachers, should build a relationship of trust and love with our students, motivating and assisting them, so that InShaaAllah, Allah opens our hearts and allows us to learn and teach His Book.
I am blessed to be part of alquran faculty , a program that increases my conviction that Islam will continue to spread by the Will of Allah. This encourages me to increase in doing what pleases Allah and in encouraging others to memorize and implement the Qur’an in their lives as well.
